Balsa Wood Glider Design

The maiden flight of our glider. Woody probably said it best: "That wasn't flying... that was falling with style!"

The only materials we had to work with were a balsa wood sheet, rod, and some super glue. SolidWorks multiview (dihedral was later removed).
Vortex lattice of the wing (note difference in wingtip due to limitations of the software). The drag polar that was computed for the glider
The Epilog Fusion M2 40 laser cutter that was used to cut the balsa sheet. Aircraft after fabrication, before ballast was added.
Glider following the series of flight tests, with thumbtacks and rubberband on the nose. Weight of the important components of the aircraft.
