MAST (Maritime Aerial Survey Technology)

National Geographic TV producer Bernard Walton choreographed my aerial shots of the sharks at MacArthur Beach State Park.

Setting up the drone before flight, mounting the GoPro camera onto the gimbal. Being filmed performing final checks before flight.
The Splash Drone is a fully waterproof quadcopter that was provided to this project by UrbanDrones. The drone soaring out over the shark infested waters.
A small group of black tip sharks swimming by. At this height, biologists can study the kinematics of sharks. Every speck is a six foot long black tip shark.
At the drone's maximum altitude of 400ft, the scale of the migration begins to become apparent. Presenting my poster at the CoE SAC Symposium.
